TIA - TIA is the abbreviation for transient ischemic attack. A TIA is a temporary paralysis, numbness, speech difficulty, or other neurologic symptoms that start suddenly and go away within 24 hours (typically resolve over several hours). See neurologic symptoms and stroke.
