RENAL CONTUSION - A soft tissue injury to the kidney. This type of renal injury most often occurs after a blunt force injury to the middle of the back (adjacent the spine). Symptoms include back pain, abdominal pain, flank pain, nausea, vomiting, and blood in the urine.
