PYLORIC STENOSIS - A congenital disorder in which the pylorus is thickened causing obstruction of the gastric outlet (to the duodenum). More common in males, pyloric stenosis has an incidence of approximately 1 in 4,000 live births. Symptoms of projectile vomiting begin several weeks after birth.
