PURPURA - Brownish-red or purple discoloration on the skin as the result of hemorrhage into the tissue. A finding associated with thrombocytopenia, idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura, or a coagulopathy (blood clotting disorder).
