PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHY - The dysfunction of a peripheral nerve. May occur secondary to the toxic effects of alcohol, diabetes mellitus, and certain B-complex vitamin deficiencies. Common symptoms include numbness, tingling, and/or burning pain in the extremities, particularly the hands and feet.
