PARALYTIC ILEUS - Paralysis or inactivity of the intestine that prohibits the passage of material within the intestine. May be the result of anticholinergic drugs, injury, or illness. Paralytic ileus is a typical occurrence post surgically. Patients may complain of constipation and bloating.
