NEPHRITIS - Inflammation of the kidney. The glomeruli, tubules, or interstitial tissue may be affected. May occur secondary to infection (bacteria), toxins (e.g. mercury, alcohol), or drugs (e.g. salicylates, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories, and acetaminophen).
