LEUKOPLAKIA - Circumscribed, firmly attached, thick white patches on the tongue and other mucous membranes (genitalia), often occurring as a pre-cancerous growth. Leukoplakia develops on the oral mucosa in response to chronic irritation (e.g. ill-fitting dentures, smoking, chewing tobacco).
