LESCH NYHAN DISEASE - An inherited (x chromosome) metabolic disease that affects only males. Clinically there is mental retardation, aggressive behavior, self-mutilation, and renal failure. Excess uric acid production exists due to the absence of an enzyme essential to purine metabolism.
