INTERACTIONS -
This refers to the net effect the presence of two drugs have in the body. Drug A may increase the effect of drug B or vice versa. Occasionally, the metabolism and elimination of one drug effects the metabolism and elimination of another drug. This can result in a potential drug interaction. Some drugs work to accomplish the same therapeutic effect. If taken in combination an excessive therapeutic response can be seen (e.g. excessively low blood pressure). Some interactions are therapeutic and desirable. Discuss any suspected drug interactions with your physician.
