INGUINAL - Pertaining to the groin. The inguinal area contains the inguinal canal, a tubular opening through the lower part of the abdominal wall. In males the inguinal canal contains the spermatic cord; in females the uterine round ligament. If abdominal organs pass through this canal it is referred to as an inguinal hernia.
