FAMILIAL COMBINED HYPERLIPIDEMIA - Inherited as a defective gene, this disorder is characterized by elevations in serum cholesterol and/or triglycerides. There are often multiple types of lipoproteins (LDL) elevated in one family. This condition is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease.
