EXOTOXINS -
This is a type of toxin that is produced by bacteria and released into the bloodstream. These toxins can cause damage in the body by destroying cells or disrupting normal cellular metabolism. Examples include the exotoxins tetanospasmin and tetanolysin, produced by Clostridia tetani (tetanus infection). One of the most potent bacterial exotoxins known is produced by Clostridium botulinum, the organism responsible for botulism.
