EPIDURAL COMPRESSION SYNDROME - Epidural compression syndrome represents a collection of conditions that can place pressure on the spinal cord, cauda equina, or conus medullaris. Cauda equina syndrome differs from spinal cord compression because it occurs below the level of the cord. All of these conditions manifest with similar symptoms and all represent an emergency. This condition represents a true emergency that will require immediate evaluation and treatment.
