DIURETICS - A medication that causes an increase in urine production. Diuretic medications are used in the treatment of hypertension and conditions involving fluid retention (congestive heart failure). Examples include Lasix, Dyazide, hydrochlorothiazide, furosemide, chlorothiazide, Aldactone, Aldactazide, Bumex, ethacrynic acid, and Maxzide.
