DECUBITUS ULCER - A chronic ulcer that appears in pressure areas in debilitated patients confined to bed or otherwise immobilized, due to a circulatory defect from the enhanced tissue pressure in high-contact areas; often occurring over a bony prominence (e.g. sacral decubitus).
