ANTICHOLINERGICS - Medications which act in opposition to the cholinergic effects of the autonomic nervous system. Anticholinergic effects include: paralytic ileus (intestinal paralysis), urinary retention, rapid heart rate, increased body temperature, and dilation of the pupils. Examples include: atropine, clidinium, dicyclomine, hyoscyamine, glycopyrrolate, isopropamide, propantheline, scopolamine, and tridihexethyl.
