AMYLOIDOSIS - A disease which is characterized by the deposition of the fibrous protein "amyloid" in one or more locations within the body. Amyloid deposition may occur in the kidney, brain, liver, heart, skin, and lungs. A recognized complication is a restrictive cardiomyopathy.
