ADH - A hormone, known as antidiuretic hormone, or vasopressin, that is produced by the posterior pituitary that functions to concentrate the urine and hence to conserve water. ADH deficiency is known as diabetes insipidus. A clinical syndrome where there is an over-production of ADH is referred to as SIADH.
