ACQUIRED BRONCHIECTASIS - Persistent and progressive dilation of bronchi or bronchioles as a consequence of inflammatory disease (lung infections), obstruction (tumor), or congenital abnormality (e.g. cystic fibrosis). Although rarely congenital, it is most often an acquired condition in childhood.
